Many of our products hold a GECA approved ecolabel thus achieving a 100% Green Star rating from the Building Council of Australia. These products include the Albi, City, Clovelly, Columbia, Cuba, Demille, Grace, Henderson, Hudson, Lola, Marcel, Maxime, Olin, Oliver, Orwell, Raga and Rosa.
Our primary supplier produces to ISO 9002 standards, holds environmental accreditation, produces locally and employs best practices to reduce resource use and to minimise emissions and waste. Where some products are supplied to Norman & Quaine through smaller makers without certification we endeavour to employ responsible manufacturers and methods.
Commercially we believe wholeheartedly in the provision of quality furniture into projects. Residentially we envisage homes where our new furniture is constructed to last and be passed onto future generations.
Policies and practices include the following:
Plywood from regrowth plantation timbers only.
Breezway utilised in lounge seating is a durable spring system with a lifetime guarantee.
Glues are non toxic water based (no urea formaldehyde).
Foams are enduro foams, dust mite free, fire retarded to BS5852 with a 10 year guarantee.
Foams (cold cured) are CFC free and fire retardent.
Tontine fibres used are CFC free, dust mite treated and fire retardent.
Calico cushions casings are hospital grade linen.
There is no “off-gassing” from any finished product.
90% of the materials used in our manufactured product is recyclable.
